All the players in the Kazamba commune civil society consultation framework have just taken to the stage. They have formulated recommendations deemed pertinent to give a new impetus to their activities. The aim is to boost the development of the population of this decentralized territorial entity (ETD).
These recommendations were formulated a few weeks ago at a workshop on strategies for revitalizing social dialogue between civil society organizations and public authorities. The event took place in the town’s multi-purpose hall.
Sylvie Mukwa, mayor of the Kazamba commune, and a number of other guests were also present. The ETD’s number one took an active part, putting forward constructive ideas.
Here are just a few of the many recommendations that emerged from the discussions: – That dialogue between state authorities and civil society be genuinely healthy and constructive; – That both sides banish fraudulent relations that would block healthy dialogue and development actions; – That a memo be sent to the partner AVENIR, which has a project to build a modern market in this commune; – That the steering committee of the Cadre de concertation de la commune de Kazamba be enlarged to include other sections of the population; – That there be awareness-raising sessions for the Kazamba community, so that it can become genuinely involved in all development actions; – That the population be placed at the heart of the actions to be carried out…
Before formulating these recommendations, Valentin Mbalanda, one of the managers of the PARC project in the town of Kikwit (south-west of the Democratic Republic of Congo) helped the audience to carry out a sort of autopsy of the activities of this consultation framework, in order to identify its strengths and weaknesses.
For his part, Placide Mukwa, vice-president of the Cadre de concertation de la société civile de la province du Kwilu (Kwilu province civil society consultation framework), took the opportunity to remind the audience of the benefits of a civil society consultation framework in an ETD such as the commune of Kazamba.
Mukwa didn’t forget to offer a number of tips to ensure that the revitalization of social dialogue between CSOs and state authorities produces positive results.
